Going Nowhere...But Down
> With the Right and Left wing standoff, where are going nowhere but down. People need to wake up and get an understanding of what is really happening in the world. The world is about more than pop culture, sports figures, Facebook and the latest gadgets. Too many people are living in a vacuum.

> Our modern time reminds me of some of the ancient standoffs of the past. The gunfighter who tries to get the drop on his opponent by putting his back to the sun. The kids on the playground moving in circular synch, shoulder to shoulder waiting to see who is going to push who first. Then the high-walled besieged kingdom whose enemy awaiting food, water and other resources to run out. Nothing is coming in and nothing is going out. As a nation, we appear to be there.

> One of the problems is with our electoral system. Politicians are always candidating. Gubernatorial elections happen on a four year cycle which are offset presidential elections. Add in State Representative elections and there are at any given time somebody playing politics for an election. And no party wants to push an agenda ahead if it will harm a potential party nominee, even if is for the good of the people they represent.

> Will somebody please fire the first shot? While both sides posture and play politics, the next generation and beyond will find themselves paying for our failures. The fact that modern leaders are in a corner cowering, my daughter and son will need to be even more financially savvy. I will have to take even more initiative to invest in their financial future during a failed economy.

> Where are the leaders of the past that stuck their neck out for what was right? We are circling the drain and there are not enough voices calling for change! Voices of change and reform are the real leaders. Not these puppets that obey lobbyist, interested parties, campaign financial supporters and party affiliates.

> Every nation that allowed the oppression of the poor and injustice ti reign is in the history books as a past dynasty. They serve as historical references of what NOT to do.
>
> We must plot a new course. An upward course instead of this downward spiral.
